  2. If you are overweight, take the initiative to lose weight. Obesity affects over 32% of Americans aged 20 or older. Thankfully, with just a few changes to our daily habits, we can have that scale giving us better readouts sooner rather than later. Cutting back on refined carbs, eating more protein and vegetables, getting at least 30 minutes of exercise several days a week, and paying attention to food portions can make a big difference.
  3. Move your body. Exercise helps with weight loss and enables you to build lean muscle that can improve your metabolism. It is also helpful for lowering stress and anxiety levels. Exercising at least 30 minutes a day five times a week can increase your overall energy levels, improve the quality of your sleep, and reduce your risk of developing chronic illnesses.
  4. See your dentist twice a year. You might be wondering why your oral health is so essential to your overall health. The truth is that there is a link between your oral health and that of your body, which is often referred to as the oral-systemic health link or the mouth-body connection. Beer, wine, and hard liquor all have a high sugar content and high levels of acid. Repeated alcohol use can lead to cavities and tooth decay. And, the use of alcohol can increase your risk of developing periodontal disease.
