And the Beat Goes On…

This billboard top ten hit from 1967 by Sonny and Cher came to mind while thinking about this blog. It was classic 60’s mentality. Life changes and we really can’t do much about it. It’s better to accept and embrace what life brings you. Fighting it or worrying about it almost never makes a difference. This philosophy can be used to this day, in so many situations.

Diane, my friend and hygienist for 27 years, has retired. And the Beat Goes On… The next verse belongs to Jennifer Jirtles RDH. Jenn joins our team this month, not to fill Diane’s shoes, but to carve out her niche on our team. After 4 weeks I must say we have found a great asset. She is intelligent, competent, compassionate and very eager to serve our patient family.

I have known Jenn for a little over a year and I am pleased to be able to bring her to our practice. She is funny, energetic and pleasant to be around. I thought she would fit in well with our team, and I was right.

The following is Jenn’s bio from our web site:

I graduated as a hygienist from GRCC in 2007.  I’ve worked in several different types of dental offices including general practices, a clinic setting and as a substitute dental hygienist all over West Michigan. I’m very excited to be a part of Dr. Sexton’s team and I will be in the office on Monday, Tuesday and most Thursday’s.

I love being a Dental Hygienist!   My favorite aspect of my career is getting to know my patients. I enjoy hearing about their families, hobbies and the day-to-day happenings in their lives. My patients teach me so much and I get to teach them and help them stay healthy in many ways. As a hygienist I also enjoy continuing education classes and wearing comfy scrubs to work.

I recently got married and have an 11 year old son, Grayson. I also have two crazy dogs, Sammi and Ollie.  Some of my hobbies include running, reading and cooking.

This bio, as well as a picture of Jennifer can soon be seen at our website: wwww.brucesextondds.com.

Jenn is an incredible addition to our team. We can’t wait for you to meet her. We are sure you will love her and appreciate her hygiene skills. She is not Diane, but that’s OK. The Beat Goes On…

Thanks for Reading,

Dr. Bruce
